1. INTRODUCTION
 

The Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) IV will be held on 8 - 9 December 2011 at Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia. The theme of the BDF IV is “Enhancing Democratic Participation in a Changing World: Responding to Democratic Voices”. The forum will focus on efforts towards enhanced people participation by way of responding to democratic voices, and relevant issues involved in the process.

 

It is expected that 15 Head of States would attend the event, with 54 participating countries from the Asia Pacific region, and 66 countries and international organizations that would attend as observers.

 

During the meeting, leaders and experts are expected to discuss the following sub-theme: (i) “The Ability of State to Respond to the Voice of Democracy”; and (ii) “Ensuring Democratic Space for Civil Society Participation”

All media representatives who are interested in covering the events must register using the prescribed Media Registration Form available at http://www.kemlu.go.id.

 

a. Download (click here) and complete the Media Registration Form.

 

b. Send the completed form with soft copies of the following documents to bdf2011.media@gmail.com:

 

• Letter of assignment from the editor/executive of the media;
• A form of identification – KTP for locals or passport for non Indonesian citizens – that is valid for at least six months;
• A recent digital passport-sized photograph.

Please note that incomplete and late registrations will not be processed.

 

For successful media accreditation, an e-mail notification will be sent to confirm your accreditation together with a unique ID number. Successful applicants are required to print and bring along a copy of the confirmation letter with the unique ID number to the Registration Desk, at BICC, Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, for issuance of ID pass.

 

 

Applicants who are not based in Jakarta are required to apply for a journalist visa at the nearest Indonesian Embassy/Representative Office. Please bring along a copy of the confirmation letter with the unique ID number when applying for the visa.

 

 

The list of equipments that will be brought by applicants must be legalized by the nearest Indonesian Embassy/Representative office for importation and exportation purpose.

 

 

ID pass will be issued at the Registration Desk, at BICC, Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, on 7 December 2011 at 09.00 – 17.00 local time. ID must be worn at all times in a visible spot and will be required for entry into venues that are accessible to the Media.

 

 

Media Center will be located at Exhibition Gallery, BICC starting from 8 to 9 December 2011.

 

Hours of operation: 08.00 – 20.00.

 

Computers with internet access and WIFI will be available at the center. First come first serve is applied for all media personnel who wish to use these facilities.
 
Refreshments and lunch will be also available for media representatives.

 

 

Media representatives will be given access to enter the venues of all open session events. However, in the event that space availability does not permit, a media pool will be applied. Others may observe or follow the events at the media center where CCTV is provided.

 

Media representatives will be responsible for their own travel arrangements, reservation and payments of hotel/accommodation.
